Some tips for all Wi-Fi Users

Use a hotspot locating website such as to find hotspots before you go

City

State / Province

Zip Code / Post Code

Country

Distance Radius (Miles)

Websites such as JiWire.com or WiFiplanet.com are great sources of information when you need to find public hotspots. Search by city and state to find all businesses, including hotels, restaurants, gas stations and bookstores, etc. that offer Wi-Fi access. Especially helpful is that JiWire tells you which airports offer Wi-Fi access, along with the specific terminal location.

Use a software program like NetStumbler to find networks when you get there. If you don't have time to look up hotspots before you go, you can use programs such as NetStumbler and AirSnort to wind wireless networks in your immediate area.
